This website is a place that can be used by people or organizations (pharmaceutical companies, universities, hospitals, etc.,) who perform studies (sometimes called trials) with potential medicines. The people or organizations performing the studies are called “Sponsors”. The Sponsors can prepare a short, simple summary of the results - called a lay summary, (or a plain-language summary), which can be made available on this website.
What language is used?
Lay summaries can be made available by the Sponsor of the study in several different languages. The choice of languages will be decided by the Sponsor who prepares the documents and provides them for posting on this website.
When are documents available?
Lay summaries are not ready as soon as a study ends. This is because the information collected during the study needs to be reviewed and analyzed after everyone has finished taking part. Therefore there can sometimes be a very long gap between the end of a study for a given participant, and the availability of the lay summary.

This website has a number of different functionalities. You can search for information using the search, or advanced search menu. You can view documents on-line, or download them.
